The Four Holy Cities for Judaism Trifter
For Judaism, there are four cities regarded as sacred and are collectively known as the “Four Holy Cities” and these include Jerusalem, Hebron, Tiberias and Safed.
Judaism is one of the oldest religions in the world. It is the first monotheistic religion in the world. Two other monotheistic religions – Christianity and Islam, were based on the basic teachings of Judaism. Hence, Jerusalem, which is sacred to Judaism, is also holy to Christians and Muslims. As of 2010, there are 13.4 million Jews in the world.

Jerusalem is the most holy city for Judaism. Likewise, the city is sacred to Christianity and Islam. This holy city, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in history, is the place where Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the cross. It was the capital of the first United Kingdom of Israel and has been a holy city since the time of King David. Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, means “Abode of Peace” or “The Holy Sanctuary”
