Game Play:

I have always been a huge fan of Think Fun and the educational games they make but this one is by far one of the best. It is really difficult to play and it took me a while to get the hang of even though the instructions are simple.

After selecting a challenge card, place the pieces that they give you. Some cards will tell you to secure 2 towers to the game while others only require two. They all have a place for the target tower. The next step is to select the additional towers that they tell you. With the towers in hand, you have to make the marble fall down a path and end up in the target tower.

I know this does sound simple but getting the marble around the board it not that easy. Each target towers has multiple ways for the ball to fall. You might think the ball is ready but it will end up on the grid. It really takes a lot of hand eye coordination and perceptive skills. For the first time, I am actually suggesting that this game is really for older kids and adults. I have played it with younger kids and the only thing they were able to do was put the marble in to see if the adult did the challenge correctly. This is great because even adults need to be challenged and this game does it in a really fun way.

Pros:

  • Fun for adults
  • Hand eye coordination
  • Visual perceptive skills
  • Planning
  • Colorful

Cons:

  • Kids love looking on seeing the adult struggle

Suggestions:

  • After you get the hang of this game, try making up your own challenges. As simple as it sounds because you are in control, the opposite is true. Creating your own challenges only brings a whole new dimension of fun to the game.
  • Even though this is a solitary game, I would still encourage you play with your little one. Have them time you to see if you can finish the challenge. It can be one minute but all the pieces have to be on the board. When time is up, your little one will be come the judge and use the marble to see if you did it correctly.

Age Range:

  • 8 to adult

Bottom Line:

As a child, I have always been a huge fan of Think Fun. They make amazing quality games that not only last, but bring fun challenges to the table. Gravity Maze is no different. It is not only fun and challenging, but it is made for older kids to adults. I have had a lot of fun testing it and really enjoyed it. I not only had fun playing Gravity Maze but my little ones had even more fun watching the ball fall all over the board rather then in the target tower. A game well worth getting. Grownups should have just as much fun as the kids.
