Moongame
By: Frank Asch
Summery:
The book Moongame, is an adorable book for younger children featuring bear. During the day time, bear finished playing a game of hide and seek with bird when it was getting dark out and time to turn in. Bear was not ready for bed to he asked his friend the moon to play hide and seek with him.
This book is really adorable. Bear is found right away but when it is the moons turn to hide, moon hides and bear thinks he gets lost. He then calls his friends from the forest to help him out. In the end of the book, all of the forest animals enjoy a great game of night time hide and seek.
Pros:
- Features many childrens favorite game of hide and seek
- Observations skills. For example bear comes across many things that look like the moon such as a yellow ballon.
- Wonderful illustrations
- More illustrations then words great for keeping younger children engaged
Cons:
- Some illustrations are a little dark. This could be a personal preference though
Suggestions:
- Since there are a lot of wonderful graphics, you can encourage your child to read the book to you using the illustration as a guiding factor.
- You can ask the child some places they like to hide when playing the game. If you are reading this book to a group of children, you can even go into playing a game of hide and seek with them.

- 2-5
- Preschool
- Children who love the game hide and seek
This book is just one of those fun books to read to children for the fun of it. There is really no lesson to be learned but it is a great way to bond with your child. Reading is very importnat and when you need a good book to read to them, Moongame is a fun one. It is a cute game of hide and seek with the moon.
